Books on Sunday: Hollow City by Ransom Riggs

The eagerly awaited sequel to Riggs’ first novel Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, it’s more peculiar and dangerous that the first. The children have successfully rescued Miss Peregrine but they’re not out of the woods yet. They must find survivors and Miss Peregrine’s sisters in order to save her! It’s clear a lot of research has gone into this novel, giving it its believable edge as do the photographs. The author has included surreal photographs he has found on various adventures into abandoned buildings. Riggs’ is a fascinating writer and his imagination knows no bounds.
