Book Review: Red Dragon by Thomas Harris

Book Review: Red Dragon by Thomas Harris

red dragon

I started this book knowing very little, having never seen the film or television series. Though it is known as the book that launched Hannibal Lecter, he is not the drive of the novel. A sick killer is practically a ghost, leaving no clues and Will Graham must forget his traumatic past to catch the man before another wholesome family dies at his hands. Harris’ story is unique and strangely captivating. While I was reading it, I could only describe it in gasps of awe. There were no words and there still aren’t. There are events in this books that are not for the faint hearted but Harris has created such complex characters, you almost feel sorry for them. Almost.
